Summary
My journey map starts in 2015, where I began my first job as a busser at Prime 47 - Carmel. Over time, I have worked in many positions including busser, hostess, expodietor, barback, office assistant and server. I currently work as a server at this restaurant. In 2019, I graduated Westfield High School with high academic honors. I started my undergrad at IUPUI as a biology major in the school of science, where I later dropped out in the spring of 2020 due to covid and other illness. I returned to school in the fall of 2020 but was still sick (not contagious) and spent a majority of this time reconsidering what I wanted to do with my life. In the spring of 2021 I officially changed my major to marketing, and I joined the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI. In the fall of 2022 I was admitted to the IUPUI honors college as well as the Kelley Honors program, where I completed Honors I-Core that semester. In August of 2022, I got married in Bloomington, Indiana to my now husband Cameron. Just a month later we finished the construction on our house which we had purchased in November of 2021. In January of this year I started an internship as a sales and marketing intern at TC Burton Enterprises, LLC in Greenfield, Indiana. I am scheduled to complete my degree in the fall semester of this year where I will graduate with Honors College notation and Kelley Honors notation. In the near future I would like to start a family but we currently have a precious pitbull named Mia which consumes a large amount of time and money (she's very spoiled). The last stop on my journey map is occupation, as that is as far into the future as I can see. I'm unsure what I ultimately want to do, but I enjoy photography, digital design, and business and am confident that I can integrate those interests into a career.

Reflection
I really enjoyed this reflective exercise as I'm a very creative person and I like drawing out my thoughts. The journey map was very eye-opening because I often forget about all of the amazing things I've already accomplished. As a student it can be very overwhelming at times because we worry about the future and if we're going to be successful or find the right job. This exercise brings into light all of the time that we have to get where we want to be and that we are not behind or ahead compared to anyone else. Everyone's journey is unique and I've enjoyed reading what others have experienced and completed. I think it will be very interesting to look back at this illustration in the future to see where I began and compare it to where I end up.
