TC Burton Internship
Summary: In January of 2023, I joined TC burton as a part-time sales & marketing intern! TC Burton Enterprises, LLC is located in Greenfield, Indiana, and focuses on producing innovative and transformable ballistic solutions for law enforcement and military personnel. Working under Cathy Burton, I engaged in website design, content creation, social media management, research & development, and product photography. During the internship, I learned how to work effectively in a team setting while utilizing a wide variety of programs and applications to complete objectives and implement a marketing strategy. The internship ended at the beginning of August of 2023, and my final assignment was to construct a new website for the company. The skills and knowledge I've obtained from my time at TC Burton will carry over into my future endeavors as a marketing professional.
Website Design
Over a 3 month time-period, I developed a website where information could be easily accessible and products could be purchased. Using Wix, I created an online store and helped launch new products including the MOLLE Panel and Fire Suppression System. Along with website design, I gained insight on how to transfer domains, monitor website traffic, and utilize SEO to increase overall website performance and accessibility. Content Creation
One of my main responsibilities was to create digital graphics, short videos, print material, and electronic event announcements. Using Photoshop, Canva, and Meta Business Suite, I crafted stunning visuals that helped communicate crucial messages for customers. Digital Media was designed for various social media platforms such as youtube, instagram, facebook, twitter, and LinkedIn. Print material often included brochures, flyers, and product packing info sheets.

Social Media Management
Using applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Meta Business Suite, I was able to track and analyze social media analytics. Common tasks included setting marketing objectives and tracking KPIs, scheduling content, running paid ads, moderating comments & messages, and generating ideas for future posts. Finally, a formal presentation was given on a monthly basis to the company executives to communicate the effectiveness of the marketing tactics implemeted.
Research & Development
Working under Todd Burton, I performed product research to navigate design barriers and existing patent challenges. Specifically, I aided in researching solutions for alternative door deployment for the LD-1 ATV kit. Extensive research was also done for the LPS-1 & LPS-2, as the product was undergoing changes in material, product dimensions, and fabric offerings.
Product Photography
With over 6 years of experience in photography, I was able to take over product photography, videography, and photoshop editing for the company. A catalog of photos was created for the website store and Amazon page, along with staging photos for print materials and social media content. The photo shown here is of the LPS-1 and LPS-2, which are NIJ level III bullet resistant shields.

Reflection
My experience at TC Burton Enterprises, LLC was invaluable, and has truly prepared me for my future endeavors as a marketing professional. I was able to engage with every part of the company, from product development to finance to marketing. I was able to further develop my skills in digital design, integrated marketing communications, and business strategy. With the company being a small new start-up, I feel I was able to make a significant impact.
